On November 27–28, the CRETE VALLEY consortium came together for its sixth plenary meeting.
Hosted at CARTIF’s premises in the beautiful city of Valladolid, the assembly offered all partners the chance to share updates and outline the next steps in implementing one of the first Renewable energy valleys in Europe.
During the meeting, CEL leaders highlighted their progress in deploying the technologies that will meet the energy needs of four communities in Crete and showcased how residents are being informed and engaged in the initiative.

With work now underway in our Follower communities, partners from Ireland, France, Portugal, and Italy had the opportunity to present their pilot projects and demonstrate how they are aligning with the main project in Crete.
On the technological front, participants explored the development of CRETE VALLEY’s digital tools, including the system-of-systems digital twin, two apps designed for citizen and professional stakeholder engagement, and RevPlanner, a decision-support tool that will help energy stakeholders develop future Renewable Energy Valleys.

Finally, the assembly reviewed data from our communication and dissemination activities, revealing high levels of stakeholder engagement across all channels and strong involvement from all partners in spreading the project’s impact.
Over the past two years, our 41 partners have worked side by side to lay the foundation for our overarching goal: a decentralised, affordable energy system. There is still much to do, but we are proud to say that, step by step, we are making it happen!
