A few days ago, the Indonesian Ambassador to Greece, Mr. Bebeb Abdul Kurnia Nugraha Djundjunan, visited Crete and was welcomed by the board of directors of Minoa Energy, one of Crete Valley’s partners. This energy community, supported by local authorities, businesses, and residents, is leading the charge in decentralized renewable energy production through virtual energy offset projects in Crete.
The ambassador and his accompanying embassy officials expressed keen interest in Crete Valley’s activities, its societal impact, and the potential influence of the project on the local economy and environment.
During their visit, the delegation toured Minoa Energy’s offices and ongoing projects, engaging in discussions with community officials about technical details, operational processes, and performance. The conversation also explored potential cooperation in sharing expertise on local-scale energy transitions.
The visit concluded with a warm exchange where both sides discussed their constructive talks and exchanged symbolic gifts. Such initiatives are especially relevant to Indonesia, a country with 18,700 islands, as it considers energy solutions for its population—the fourth largest in the world.
