CRETE VALLEY will participate in Enlit Europe 2026, one of Europe’s leading events for the energy transition, taking place in Vienna, Austria, from 10 to 12 November 2026.
As part of the official programme, Elissaios Sarmas from DSS Lab, EPU-NTUA will present the project’s work during the session “Powering the Future: New Technologies for an Electrified Energy System” on Wednesday 11 November, from 11:45 to 13:00. The session will take place in EU Projects Hub 2, located within the EU Projects Zone (Hall C).

The presentation will highlight how CRETE VALLEY is supporting the transition of Crete towards becoming a Renewable Energy Valley, where locally available renewable energy sources such as rooftop solar, wind energy, biomass, hydrogen and geothermal energy can collectively meet the island’s electricity and heating needs throughout the year. The project also promotes energy communities and smart digital tools, giving citizens and local stakeholders greater control over how energy is produced, managed and consumed.
Throughout the event, attendees will also have the opportunity to meet representatives of the project at stand C1.EU-S14 in the EU Projects Zone (Hall C). Crete Valley will share the exhibition space with the EU-funded projects EnerTEF, EnergyGuard, META BUILD and PVSmile, creating opportunities to explore complementary innovations supporting Europe’s clean energy and digital transformation goals.
Participation in the exhibition area is free of charge. Visitors interested in learning more about the project, its technologies and its vision for a sustainable energy future are invited to register and attend.
